Round 11 already, after a nice little wintery break we’re back and into the tail end of the season. With 5 home and away rounds to go let’s all focus on playing and barracking together in the true St Marys spirit and enjoying our footy. Let’s hope our song is sung loud and proud many times over the remainder of the season.
Talking about singing loud and proud, the roof of AK Lines was lifted in round 10 when our Under 15/4 boys hung on by 6 pts in a tight battle with Camberwell and put their first win of the season on the board. Congratulations boys, a mighty effort and well deserved.
This Sunday Night at the rooms.
Being the last night before school goes back (Boo! I hear from the kids, Yay! I hear from the parents.) this Sunday night, July 13th, is for all age groups starting from 5.30pm. The St Marys GJFC would love to invite every player and their family and friends to come along and chat about the days footy, have a few drinks and make some friends!
We will as usual provide complimentary pizzas for the players to eat. We will also be serving Dim Sims and Wedges at a very reasonable price. The bar will be open as well, so please make the effort to come down. There will be the Joker Jackpot – your chance to win $400 cash for just a $2 outlay or a Seafood Tray valued at over $100 donated by Fishi Business who are situated on the 1st Floor of Greensborough Plaza! The choice is yours. At worst if you don’t select the Joker you receive a consolation prize of a bottle of St Mary’s wine.
There will also be the Lucky Guernsey Number Giveaway. A number will be drawn at random and a player who wears that Guernsey number this season will walk away with a $25 Rebel voucher. That’s three chances to win something on the night!!!

Please support our social functions below, if you haven’t already, see you team manager this weekend to book tickets. Remember as well as being a great social atmosphere any money raised over the cost price goes directly to providing the equipment etc that your child benefits from at the club.

Sportsman/Ladies Luncheon – Friday 18th July at the Clubrooms
Our next social function on the calendar is our huge Sportsman’s Lunch. All members including all our female members are more than welcome!

To be held at the Whatmough park clubrooms the Cost is only $60 for the entertainment, and a 3 course meal with drinks at bar prices. Look out for the flyers around the club with more details and contact your team manager or Sam Gioffre directly to organise your tickets.
Gala Dinner – Friday 1st August
Our biggest social event for 2014 is fast approaching with the Gala night scheduled for Friday 1st August. This is always a great night where we celebrate the success of the season and bid a farewell to our Top Age Colts boys. This year we are at a new venue with a new menu. $85 a head includes pre dinner drinks, savouries, a 4 course meal, beer, wine, soft drink and live music. That’s great value!!!
